Time to take care of unfinished business! Watch the Bearcats take on Grand Valley State for the National Championship title. This is the year!

We are accepting donations of personal items for the Urbandale Food Pantry as part of our efforts to give back to the community. 8 oz. bottles of shampoo/conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toilet paper, sanitary napkins, and diapers are the most needed items. There will be a collection box at The Game.

We are selling chapter short sleeved t-shirts to raise money for our scholarship fund. The shirts are $15 each and are available in regular or ladies fit. The shirts are gray with dark green print and have a logo in the chest pocket area (no pocket) and on the sleeve. Pictures may be found below.

2009 Bearcat Football Semi-Final Watch Party

It's time to cheer on the Bearcats as they take on California (PA) in Maryville for a chance to go onto the Championship!

The game is on Saturday December 5th at 7:30pm and will be televised on CBS College Sports.

The Central Iowa Alumni Chapter will be hosting a watch party for those that can't make it to Maryville to cheer the 'Cats on in person!

Unfortunately, our usual place, The Game, was booked up for Saturday so we had to pick an alternate! Please make sure you come to the right place! :)

Where: Over Time Sports Bar, 4810 86th Street, Urbandale, IA

When: Saturday December 5th, 7pm-Whenever (Kickoff at 7:30pm)

We will be in the back room but can spillover into the main part of the bar if needed.

To raise money for our chapter scholarship fund we will be selling t-shirts for $15. The shirts will be gray and will have "Northwest Bearcats" with the paw logo on the chest pocket area and the sleeve will say "Central Iowa Alumni Chapter" also with a paw. The design is simple and will allow for many years of wear! We currently have 50 shirts in both regular and ladies styles on order.

We will have these shirts for sale at the watch party and all proceeds go to our scholarship fund! If you are unable to attend the watch party or are unable to secure a shirt of your size we will be putting in another order and can place yours at that time as well. Olde Main Brewing Co. Tour and Dinner

Please join us as we tour the Olde Main Brewing Co. in Ames, IA!

Learn all about Olde Main's distinctive beers from the brewmaster himself and see the brewing process in action. A 30-45 minute tour will be provided free of charge. Following the tour, feel free to stick around for dinner and pair some delicious beer with equally delicious food! You're on your own for the cost of dinner and drink, of course.

We're Moving (our socials)!

We are always trying to find the best locations for our socials and events and sometimes that means we have to make a move. After several months at Kelley's in Beaverdale it's become evident that we need to change locations!

The Game Sports Bar in Urbandale has been a great host for our Football watch parties for the last three years AND has a Bearcat as one of the owners!

Beginning in October we'll be having our First Thursday socials at The Game Sports Bar at 6pm on the first Thursday of every month.

Thursdays also happen to be steak night and there will be a variety of drink specials as well! We think this move will be our last as our Central Iowa Bearcats tend to feel at home at The Game.

It's State Fair Time Again! We need your help!

It's that time of year again! Time for the Iowa State Fair! This is one of our biggest chances to get the word out about Northwest and our Alumni chapters!
We are seeking alumni and friends to volunteer to staff the Northwest Missouri State University booth at this year's fair. All volunteers will receive an Admission ticket and parking pass. Below you'll find the time slots open for volunteers. Please email brenda@nwmissouri.edu indicating which time slot you'd like to work (and a 2nd choice in case your slot is filled). Please include the names of everyone working, your mailing address so that we'll know where to mail your fair admission and parking passes and a phone number. We need two volunteers per time slot that is listed below. We are contacting everyone who worked the booth last year to give you first choice so sign up early. Bearcat Family Picnic

Pack a picnic and come enjoy a summer day outside with other Bearcats and their families! Kids can play in the playground and the beach will be open for swimming

Cost: FREE! Families should bring their own picnic food and drinks. A grill is provided at the shelter but tabletop or tailgate grills are also allowed.

Central Iowa Alumni Invited to Des Moines Hubbard Retirement Event

In honor of Dean and Aleta Hubbard’s 25 years of outstanding leadership at Northwest, a series of celebrations are being planned by the Northwest Foundation and the Northwest Alumni Association.

These invitation-only “Quarter Century of Quality” receptions, prior to Dr. Hubbard’s July 2009 retirement, will be in Mesa, Ariz. (Feb. 28), Des Moines, Iowa (March 20), St. Joseph (April 3) and Omaha, Neb. (May 28).

Alumni in Central Iowa are invited to attend the March 20th event at the Botanical Center and must RSVP by March 13th. The cost is $20 per person. Attire is dressy casual (sport coats for the men, dress or pants suit for the women).

In addition, celebrations open to the public will be held in Kansas City March 5 and on the Northwest campus April 23.

A black-tie gathering for a select group of Dr. and Mrs. Hubbard’s family and friends took place in October at Kansas City’s Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in celebration of their distinguished years of service to Northwest.

NWMSU Night @ The Iowa Energy

The Central Iowa Alumni & Friends Chapter of the Northwest Alumni Association will be holding an event at the Iowa Energy basketball game on April 1. Make plans today to meet other Bearcats at the game.

Come cheer on the Iowa Energy as they take on the LA Defenders. The Iowa Energy is the NBA development league affiliated with the Chicago Bulls and the Phoenix Suns so you're sure to see some great basketball action!
